About

I am a passionate home cook, self-taught photographer, and completely obsessed with collecting cookbooks.  I’m also on an ongoing mission to find healthy recipes that my family actually enjoys.

I was born in Romania and moved here with my parents and sister when I was just 8 years old.  My mom, for as long as I can remember has always made at least a two course dinner.  Soup and the main dish were always simmering away or baking in the oven while I was growing up.

I am married to an amazing man who is my biggest supporter, the most handsome firefighter I have ever seen,  and my forever recipe tester.  I have two princesses who love to get involved in the kitchen and a little man who constantly keeps me on my toes. They are a daily reminder of why becoming a mom was the best decision I ever made.

I have always loved to cook and try out new recipes, however after having my second daughter cooking dinner was becoming extremely stressful with a baby on my hip and a toddler on my leg. I was on a mission to find easy and healthy dishes that could be prepared in the morning, and would be done by dinner time. Slow cooker recipes have always been a favorite of mine.  I love to put ingredients in a pot and let them cook on their own while I try to manage our crazy busy lives, but as I began searching the interned, I realized that many slow cooker/crockpot recipes included a lot of processed ingredients.

As a mom of three now, it is really important to me that I feed my kids healthy and unprocessed meals and so I began developing my own recipes, using homemade seasoning mixes and simple ingredients. In the last year we have discovered that my youngest daughter has a sensitivity to gluten and I don’t tolerate dairy as well as I once did, so recipes that are gluten free and diary free will be popping up a lot more. I also was gifted a pressure cooker/ instant pot recently, so I will be sprinkling some quick recipes throughout as well.

Through this blog, I hope to inspire you to use you slow cooker/crockpot (and sometimes Instant Pot) more, and share with you dishes that are healthy, easy, and delicious.
